I was born and raised in Tulsa and I graduated from Oklahoma State in 2018 with a Bachelor of Interior Design. I worked in Austin out of school and moved back to Tulsa to work with TriArch in 2020.
When I was little, I was always drawing or coloring. Baby dolls and playhouses never held my attention. The older I got, the more that my coloring activities turned into drawing floor plans of my dream room or dreamhouse. From then on, I just simply never lost interest. I got my feet wet in the basics of interior design, while still in high school. I figured that would help me determine if I actually wanted to do this. After hours of hand drafting, hand rendering, multiple notebooks of sketches and architectural lettering practice, I was even more interested to keep learning. The more I learned, the more I loved what I was doing.
Kickapoo Tiny Houses- I think the concept of tiny houses are such a fun space to design in general. The end result of our Tiny Houses were better than I even pictured. It was exciting to see the finishes that I solely had a hand in choosing and everyone seemed to be very aesthetically pleased by the look, so that is always a great feeling as a designer. All of my friends and even some strangers always ask about the tiny houses when they see them on my social media, so they have sort of become a hot commodity.
Although a fictional character, Lorelai Gilmore, from the early 2000’s show, Gilmore Girls is someone I have always looked up to and aspired to be like. She is a dedicated mom, daughter, and friend. She is career driven and although she has had her fair share of roller coaster personal relationships, she has always made her career and personal success a priority. She grew up in a family full of money and all she wanted to do her whole life was get out and do things for herself. She was never afraid to ask for help when she knew she needed it, but she also did her part to payback her debts. I have a lot of respect for a woman that lives a life she enjoys, while never forgetting what her goals and aspirations are.
I have an obsession with the weather. I checked the weather for my current location every morning when I wake up, every night before I go to bed and at least 3 times in between. My friends text me to ask the forecast because they know I will always know it for at least the next week. I have googled more facts about the weather than anyone else probably cares to know. I must have been a meteorologist in another life. Travis Meyer is a close second for one of my heroes.
